Welcome to AusCan Travellers, a travel blog created to flip the script on what life after 50 looks like — especially for those of us who love to travel.

We’re Wayne (from Australia) and Chris (from Canada), and we met while each of us was solo travelling through South America. Between us, we’ve visited over 130 countries — and we’re just getting started. While exploring the world, the idea for AusCan Travellers was born: a space to inspire others over 50 to embrace new adventures through travel, forge connections, and live life to the fullest.

Why We Started This Blog

Chris has always loved writing and storytelling, and over the years, many fellow travellers have encouraged her to start a blog. So here it is — a space dedicated to travel over 50, community stories, how-to guides, and reflections from the road. We want this to be a supportive place for those navigating mid-life and dreaming about (or already living) a life of travel.

50+ Travel Is a Growing Movement

By 2030, over 1.4 billion people will be aged 60 and older — a number expected to double by 2050. That’s a massive wave of potential mid-life travellers with wisdom, energy, and curiosity to spare. We believe that age should never limit your sense of adventure.

So, we’re stepping into the world of blogging and social media to share what’s possible after 50. Whether you’re just starting to dream about travel or already have your backpack or suitcase ready, we’re here to encourage, inform, and connect with you.
